It is almost LAN Party night. You and your friends are planning for the next LAN event. How many computers will you bring- do you need to bring your laptop as well? How many work stations will be set up? Who is bringing food and beverages? Which games will be the main features of the weekend? Does anyone need any additional software installed?
You will definitely need to make sure you have enough computers to power the fun this weekend. Be sure that every computer has all of the software installed to play the games you are planning to enjoy- and definitely make sure every game is up to date on patches! You can not LAN if you are running different versions of a game!
Also, in regards to food, you probably want to go the frozen food route- who is going to volunteer to cook when there are games to be played? Get some frozen pizzas and chicken wings, some juices and other beverages, and you should be set.
But you forgot one thing, didn’t you? Your family is going to wonder about your safety! Sometimes people overdo it at these LAN parties, so your family will be sure to want to stay in touch. Now, we are not suggesting that you go and remove yourself from a game just to chat on the phone with Mom and Dad. But you can use group texting to get the job done. There is nothing wrong with helping your parents stay sane by offering a brief check in during the weekend. This way they can be sure you are okay. You might even feel good about it while you are at it!
Enjoy the LAN this weekend- it is a precious time to get together with your fellow gamers and revel in the glory of gaming.
